We exist to proclaim the gospel and equip people to become wholehearted followers of Christ.
Our Core Values:
The Gospel: The good news of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection is what makes us who we are. We are sinners saved by grace! In our gratitude we want other people to hear this news and we want this to control our worship and our relationships. We want to do all things to the glory of our savior. Jesus Christ.
Biblical Preaching: Our preaching sticks to the Word of God. We go through books of the Bible, a chapter at a time, and trust that Scripture is sufficient to shape our minds and hearts for life in Christ’s kingdom.
Family Worship & Discipleship: We believe that parents are the most spiritually influential people in the lives of their children. We want to develop parents so that they feel equipped to be the primary disciple- makers of their children. This is also whey we highly encourage families of all ages to worship together on Sunday morning.
Loving Service: This is why we worship downtown! Our facility allows us to be accessible to many folks that might not normally be attracted to a church and also allows us to operate a coffee shop that is free for all our guests to enjoy.
The Body of Christ: We are a family! This means every person at Discovery can have a role in encouraging, equipping, and reaching people for Jesus. It also means we want to see the body grow in Yankton and around the world. This is why we support multiple local services like Zoe Care and Pathways, but also multiple cross cultural missionaries.
