Welcome
Discovery Church is a place where we have a love for preaching and teaching: we actually treat the Bible like it is God's word. We take an "expository" approach in our preaching and teaching which means that the main idea of the Scripture being preached is the main idea of the sermon or lesson. We strive to be hospitable and relational. It is hard to attend without being welcomed. We love our children. Children worship with their parents and parents are challenged to be the primary disciple-makers of their children. We are in downtown Yankton because we want to reach people who might not be comfortable in a traditional church. Our coffee shop operates at least 3 days a week to specifically love and serve those experiencing homelessness or temporary crisis. We want to help people get connected to available resources and love them with the love of Christ.
Love Our City
We want to love the city that God has planted us in! One way we can do that is to serve its people with met physical needs & random acts of kindness. That’s what Love Our City is all about!
On July 26th, four of Yankton’s churches will be out serving the city together painting, mowing, putting up fences, moving furniture, cleaning up yards, and whatever else needs done. Let us know how we can serve you!
